HYBRID rice seed production

During December of 2007, Romy Pelaez, the secretary of Nueva Ecija Hybrid Rice Cooperative, invited me to take care of the nutrition of his farm, a one hectare farmland and an adjoining 2.8hectares located in Guimba, Nueva Ecija.

The farmers of Guimba are well known Hybrid rice producers. During summer, they are planting the Hybrid varieties of Mestizo 1 and Mestizo 7.

Philrice provided the seeds to be planted by the farmers, in return, the harvest will be sold to Philrice.

Philrice distribute the produced certified seeds to different regions of the Philippines.
